I loved the bright beautiful colors that were all around Sharlin and Ben’s wedding at San Luis Rey Downs Country Club.  But most of all, I loved how they looked at each other.  It’s so nice working with people who are so in love.  I think it really shows in their pictures, it was impossible not to capture it.  They had a wedding filled with amazing family and great friends.  It was a happy day!

Congratulations Sharlin and Ben, I hope you love your pictures!

We are so lucky to have my whole family live close by.  We all help each other out, hang out, babysit and provide the “village” it takes to raise a family.  I really can’t imagine doing it any other way.  I wish my husband’s family was closer, but at least we have a yearly excuse to visit Guatemala.

Here are just a few pictures of the cousins over the 4th of July.  We hung out and BBQ’d at my sisters house.  Watching the kids together makes my heart swell 🙂

Wonderful shots of seriously gorgeous kids.

  • Love, Love, Love!

My husband and I flew to Cancun to be a part of the wedding for Rebecca and Danny.  We spend 5 wonderful days at the Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun.  It was so beautiful and I felt pampered and relaxed (which I haven’t felt in many years!).  They had around 60 people fly in, which is totally unheard of.  Usually destination weddings end up being fairly small.  Rebecca and Danny have a beautiful little boy Jonathan and they both have these amazing families.  So the whole group spent the week or more together.  The weather was steamy, but who cares when you’re laying under a palapa?

A few days before the wedding I photographed some family portraits and a huge shot of everyone wearing their wedding t-shirts:

And then came the wedding!  Everything went so smoothly and the reception was so fun.  Lots of drinks and sweat and crazy dancing!

The day after the wedding we all headed to do photos in a cenote:

  • Those are beautiful photographs. You really captured a happy time for this couple. Danny, you, your wife and both families look very happy. Best wishes and your son is CUTE!

  • WOW! What a great opportunity to get some amazing photos! Cute Kids!

I met Katie and Joel only one time before their wedding.  They had described their vision to me and it was so amazing to see it all come to life.  They had a simple wedding, yet totally elegant and totally them.  Joel and his family are from the south, so they served sweet tea and southern food.  Who knew fried chicken and waffles (plus butter and syrup) could be so good?  The Scripps Seaside Forum is an awesome spot.  I think Katie and Joel might have thought I was a little TOO excited while I was taking their pictures.  I couldn’t help it, I just loved the light, the lines and of course my subjects 🙂

Everything ran so smoothly and will lots of style thanks to Thomas and Jennifer from Thomas Bui Lifestyle.  Things always run so much better with a great coordinator.  The bright and beautiful flowers were from Tessilk, and the super yummy food was from Barry at Coast Catering.  And the cake was from the gals at CAKE.

Katie and Joel, thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer.  I loved every minute of it, and weddings like yours make me excited about my job.  Enjoy your photos!

They did all their photos before the ceremony, and their first look was really cute:
